BALLISTI-CAST IS BEING SOLD
Bad news folks.
BALLISTI-CAST(The makers of BALLISTI-CAST casting machines, lube/sizers, and H&G molds) is out of business and up for sale.
See their site for confirmation of the same.
They advertise that they will still offer parts and service....the problem with that, is they will not answer the telephone(recently) and ship ordered parts.(Two weeks later, no parts.) They may show up, but that is a ridiculous time to wait for them.
BEWARE!

Always bad to see a company go down but on the bright side maybe Skip can buy it.

I talked to Peter Neiss yeterday and he said that everything was packed up as he had to be out of the building by the end of the week and no parts or anything would be available untill he got set up into a new location.
Only problem was he didn't have a new location as of yet so who knows what will happen now. I was going to order up some spare spue plates JIC but he said he can't get to anything right now.
Not a major problem as I have fabricated most of the parts I have ever needed for the machines and of better quality to boot.

Something gun related is going out of business in this gun buying economy? I would question their quality but I have never heard of them. Anything gun related seems to be going through the roof right now.

As I understand it, Ballisti-Cast bought all of Wayne Gibb's cherries when he closed Hensley & Gibbs, so if you want a genuine H&G design, Ballisti-Cast was the mould manufacturer to buy from. I bought a 2 cavity H&G 68 mold (Ballisti-Cast #668) from them a few years ago and it's a joy to cast with. Ordered it on the phone, spent about half an hour talking to them about what size I wanted, the alloy I was using, the guns I'd be shooting and overall just chatting about the mold. Less than two weeks later I had it, and about week after that a follow-up call to make sure I was happy. Damn shame if it goes by the wayside.

That's OK I have a shed in the back yard and could set you up for all your casting needs.

I don't know if it is still in the same form as last year, but I do know the company is up and running. There are group buys being offered on the CastBoolits forum for custom molds from them.

The NEW OWNERS are making Casting Machines Sizing Machines, Moulds, and even doing some REVISIONS to the machinery from CUSTOMERS SUGGESTIONS. Improvements with his customers help, that's customer service for real, just listening and discussing things with their customers is a real PLUS for THIS ownership of this company.
How about that?
I awaiting a mold from Mike Sand at this moment. He's making hand molds, molds for the BALLISTI-CAST MACHINE, AND WILL ALSO MAKE MOLDS FOR THE MAGMA ENGINEERING MASTER-CASTER MACHINE. I have a few moulds from him already.
They are doing Group Buys TOO!
Round II for their SIZER is going on now at the Cast BOOLITS forum.

Sad to see, my local caster is in trouble too. Not sure whats happening there, they said lead prices are up. Would think the casting business would be doing ok. All this up and down in the gun bizz taking a toll.
