That's about right.
I had it sighted in at 200yds and when I moved to the 100yd line the wind came up a bit and, I think, moved my group to the right a bit.
OR it could be my poor benchrest shooting skills.
Today was only my second time to shoot from a bench.
First time was Wednesday in a 30mph, gusty wind.

getting things dialed in a little better
just acquired some 69gr Speer bullets which should be more accurate than the 50gr SP's

That bullet looks like it works a little better..........I see a vertical group.
This group can be cut in half maybe with a little better breathing technique.
Looking good...........

Thanks
I think my "left" shots are all trigger.
The wind was gusty, but I still think it was my limited trigger skills.

Doc, whats your twist rate on that Savage? My Rem 700 in .223 has 1:12. I haven't dared go above 55 grains with it. I'd be very interested in how the 69 grain goes in your Savage.
Speaking of which, where are you finding these bullets? I can't get .224 bullets anywhere! I'm set on varmint bullets, but I am in despatate need of some 65 grain Sierra Game Kings. I'd even go for some Barnes TSX if I could find them.

Congrats on your first bottleneck rounds!
I still remember the first deer I took with one of my handloads. Loading is a natural extension of the shooting sports.
Again, Congratulations!

The Savages are 1 in 9 twist & most of them will stabilize the Hornady 75gr a-max bullets. I used to have a Savage model 10 that would flat out shoot.
You might consider shooting heavier bullets with the Varget or switching powders for the lighter bullets. Varget is at its best with max loads & heavy bullets.
2 of my favorite 223 loads:
Hornady 55gr psp 10/1000ths off the lands & grooves 26.5gr of bl-c2
Hornady 75gr a-max 10/1000ths of the lands & grooves 24.7gr of Varget
Both of those loads would produce ½ moa groups with a Savage model 10 & a ar-15, both had a 1 in 9 twist & many of the 5-shot 100yd groups were bugholes.

With a little tinkering, you can probably tighten even that nice group up a bit. That's the fun of reloading for rifles, the working up the perfect load for your gun!
Congrats on the nice shooting.

Thanks, it IS great fun.
I'll be reloading Varget under the 69gr bullets this week.
I only have 50gr sp, 55gr hp, and 100 Sierra 69gr Match King bthp's
Only powder I could find was some Varget and IMR 3031.
What Varget load do you recommend for the 69 gr Match Kings with this 1/9 twist barrel? (target shooting, not hunting)

trying different weight bullets with different powder loads
getting it dialed in
55gr hp's w/25gr Varget are the ticket
69gr Sierra BTHP Match Kings will eventually shoot great, too. Need to try different powder charges
Sure is fun!
