I have been loading with a single stage press and a Lee Pro Auto Disk powder measure. I am going to add a Lee Classic Turret Press or Pro 1000 progressive press. Is it difficult to use a different brand of powder measure (RCBS Uniflow or Redding 3BR, for instance) with the Lee flow-through die? Do other turret mounted measures operate the same, dropping the charge on the upstroke as the case mouth is expanded like the Lee?

Most progressives use some sort of powder thru die. The issue will be getting a collet or such to adapt the Lee press. Dillon offer such a collet for using other measures, Lee may also.
FWIW, Lee makes a poor excuse for a progressive. Their Classic Turret is a better press IMHO. If you want a reliable progressive, go Dillon, LNL 2nd, Lee not even on the radar.

You can use a Dillion powder measure on any press, it is case mouth actuated. It also flares the case mouth. There is a special die involved and the powder thru case adapter. I used one on a L-N-L and on single stage presses, very accurate with ball or the flat semi ball powders! Ivan

You need a powder measure and its specifically designed powder-through expander. Lee, Hornady, RCBS, and Dillon supply such measures. If you are willing to manually drop the charge, you need a powder measure adaptor for the press.

Yes there are adapters. Even though I like Lee Products I agree, do not buy their Progressive Press. The Turret press is a good press and the Pro Auto Disk works fine on it. Yes you are limited to the disc size hole but I have not found that a problem and I load a lot of calibers. If it calls for 5.2gr and it drops 5.5gr for example, I don't care. I have and tried the adjustable bar but don't like it.

For the Perfect Powder Measure:
It is best used as bench-mounted.
Run at least a hopper of graphitized powder or just powdered graphite through it when you get it. During break-in, it tends to leak with lots of ball powders. Put paper under to catch the leakage. This does not affect the charge dropped. When done, disassemble and clean the measure. You can increase the tension, but NOT while there is powder in the measure.

That measure from E-bay looks like an exact copy of Lee's perfect powder measure. Except for the aluminum parts.
