Default Penetration + Expansion + Weight Retention = One Happy Redneck

Well, I think I have finally found the magic elixir for casting my bullets that has given me the desired performance from my .38-44 loads. These are 147 grain #358156 HP's cast from wheelweights and tin with a 16 to 1 ratio. BHN is about 13-14 and the velocity is about 1,260 fps from my Outdoorsman. They all penetrated a good 12 inches of wet newsprint, and of these four here, three weighed 145 grains and one 143 grains. I may have found my desired concoction.

Sweet little bullets with "Dimples"...how cute !!

Those babys look like they could really ruin some ones day !!

12 inches of wet pack, that's some serious penetration, yes,
looks like you have a keeper there.

There is nothing quite as good as a LSWC/HP bullet with enough velocity behind it to make pretty little mushrooms. It looks like you found the right alloy alright. That combination looks like the perfect FBI Load to me only a little faster...
