I am thinking of getting into reloading - the 357 mag cartridge in particular. I bought Redding Ti Carbide dies at Natchez and a Partner press at Midway. Does anyone see a problem using the Partner press for reloading the 357 mag? Natchez had the Redding Boss press in stock, but I thought I would not need a press this large just for 357 mag.

The Partner press should load 357 without a problem, and most straight wall cases for that matter.

Nothing wrong with that press for loading .357 Magnum ammo. If it were me and I was only going to load handgun ammo I would have bought a Lee Classic Turret Press instead. (and I did buy that press for handgun loading)

The guy that taught me reloading used a RCBS Partner press. He loaded mostly .44 Mag, .357 Mag., .243, .270, and .308. As far as I know he still uses it today. I'd say you are good to go.

I use a partener press for small runs of anything I wanna run.

Even use the primer arm , not really needed as long as your hands are fairly dry/clean ,but I wear a nitrile glove handling primers singley

I even like the spent primer catcher , it even catches most of the crude & keeps it off the ram.

I always use RCBS Case LubeII , litely on the shoulders & inside of case neck (rifle cases)

For an aluminum 3/4" rammed press I give it an A

Welcome to reloading: One thing with the Partner Press, being alloy, they flex slightly compared to the Rockchucker. I am guessing it NOT to be a problem with .357. A friend of mine got into reloading several years ago... for .223 caliber. The press (Partner) will flex slightly when decapping/sizing .223 cases and possibly others, and NOT completely size the casing. Flex was measured at .025"-.033" using precision shim stock.
Make sure the shell holder bumps the die with a casing in the shellholder as it may resolve problems in the future.

I've used a Partner for about 25 years and loaded about 50,000 rounds with it of various calibers including a lot of .357 Mag. No problems. but get a Lee Autoprime for priming. The priming tool on the Partner doesn't work so good.
