Does anyone know the max case length (not ovearall length of the round), and the trim-to length for the 7.5X55 Swiss case? I wanna take my K 31 out to play and have to make up some food for it first.

That's weird - I've checked all my manuals - none of them has info for 7.5x55 ... Well, on THR one person mentioned:
Trim length is 2.175", 2.185" is max
FWIW

Case length is 55.60 mm (2.189") I trim .010" under max on any rifle case, 2.179 in your case. The SAAMI minimum length is usually -.020 but your probably don't need to trim that much.

Ammo Encyclopedia (3rd Ed.) has the case length at 2.189".
I assume that is max and you would trim .01" off that.

FWIW Cartridges Of The World (4th Ed.) has some reloading info.
Frank also mentions you can form cases from 284 Win.
P.O. Ackley has a little reloading info in his handbook (vol. 1)

Now just to complicate matters, Hornady (3rd Ed.) has a chapter for the 7.5 Schmidt Rubin
which they also call the 7.5 Swiss but is listed as having a length of only 2.140.
I assume that's not quite the same cartridge.

Lee 2nd edition lists case length as 2.185-as does Hodgdon 26. Sierra No 1 says 2.180.

The Hornady Handbook of 1967 shows the case length for the 7.5 Swiss ( 7.5 Schmidt-Rubin) which should be the same round, as 2.140 inch. They list both names on the drawing.

Once fired nny brass cases measure from 2.175 all the way to 2.180 inches. They average 1.1775, but no two are identical.

The once fired and resized cases , LAC stamp, measure a consistent 2.19 inch ....that's strange.

I don't have any new unfired cases to measure, just once fired and fired and resized.
Now I'm confused...2.185 sounds about right!

Good luck
Gary
