IMR 800X
Spotted a lone 1lb of 800X while making my weekly Bass Pro Shop run and jumped on it for $26. Looks like it will be interesting metering it (large flakes), but I'm finding a good amount of load data. Looking forward to working up loads for the .40, .44 Special and 44 mag.

I have some, but so far have only reloaded shot shells with it. In fact, I bought it because it was the only powder I could find on the shelves with load data for one particular combination of 16 gauge hulls and wads.
It looks promising for 357 magnum and 44 magnum, though, so I'm very likely going to try it in those applications.

I was in the same boat, only powder in stock.
Interesting loads but tough to meter despite trying every trick in my book.
Resorted to weighing each load.

I have used it so far with 180gr bullets for .40s&w & like the results. However I measure every load as it doesnt meter well at all as you have guessed

I am a big fan of 800x
I really like 800x, I load with a single stage press and have a quick digital scale so I am not bothered by weighing each charge. I am really pleased with performance in 45 colt and .357mag. I picked up a bunch of it at $20 a pound.

I wish I could find it like that. I am down to my last 1 lbs. I use it for 10mm. I just loaded some 155gr XTPs with 10grains and figure it should push it to almost 1400fps which would be around 675 ft lbs of energy. Good stuff but it is hard to meter.

It's a good performing powder in upper end loads in many calibers, but it meters like corn flakes, terrible. Longshot works about the same, meters better. I do like it in 10mm.

For those with 800X metering issues, let a dipper be your friend!

I used to use it for heavy 12 ga loads. I went through about 8 lbs of it before I switched to Aliant powder. I'm glad I read this, I have several pounds of it left so maybe I'll work up some 45 ACP loads if I can find data.

My 'CHARGE MASTER' handles it just fine- all I have used in hunting loads for years, except the 500--

I have used it for steel pellets for duck hunting loads and
it will also give you a heavy +P load in a 38 snub nose with a 125 jhp.
In my 357 magnum it worked best with the heavier bullets and back in 2008 I got 6 @ 1.11" at 25 yards off a sand bag.
Back then I hand weighed every load and did not use the powder tube, for some odd reason.
Have fun.

Weigh your charges. I have never seen any measure do better than 2-3/10 gr accuracy with 800x.
