Default Range has gone silent

A while back I posted some load testing done with my model 14 PPC gun testing different seating configurations and powder charges. Testing was made possible by a very dear friend and fellow shooter Chuck Rogers.

Got word late yesterday Chuck suddenly died, three weeks after being diagnosed with stage 4 esophogeal cancer.

While I have been shooting and hand loading for 40+ years now, Chuck brought more science and precision to my loading game. He has helped me with load testing and precision load developments like switching to collet sizing for my .22 hornet loads and checking concentricity with his gage for my rifle loads. He let me use his private range facilities and his chronographs to do load tests and would always lend advice. We swapped loads, sharred bullets and powders on more than one occassion.

Most recently Chuck and I were in the planning stages for a spring S.D. prairrie dog trip to exercise the new handloads.

Good shooting dear friend.

Condolences on the loss of your friend. Not to lessen the impact of his loss but at least he didn't suffer long. Prayers for you and all involves. I lost my last friend last year it's tough being the last of your friend circle.

Revelation 21:4
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Default Keep shooting....

Keep shooting in his memory. After we pick up our dogs at the Rainbow Bridge, we're heading over to that big range in the sky.

Default Continue his legacy

Condolences for your lose. As others have said, go shooting in his memory.

I purchased a lever rifle after shooting a friends. Got it in, and before I could shoot it, he passed. Went to the range to shoot it. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Sights were blurry. One of my best range trips ever.

So, yes, continue shooting in his memory. Find someone to mentor. Let his legacy live in you. He will be smiling on you the whole time.
