Default BP loads for a S&W 2nd model

Hi.
I'm looking for black powder reloading data for my S&W 2nd model pocket pistol in cal. .38 s&w. I'll be using the gun for the pocket pistol speed events in cowboys action shooting so fair bullet and powder weights would be sufficient.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

KR

The proper load on Black Powder in any cartridge is whatever it takes to fill to the base of the bullet plus a little so the powder is compressed. REALLY!!

In .38 S&W I would use FFFg loaded so the un-compressed change is no more than 3/16" below the case mouth, then seat the bullet to the cannelure. Be sure to use a lube like SPG, not commercial cast bullets with a hard wax lubricant.

My gun club is primarily black powder. Alk8944 is 100% correct. If possible, try different brands of 3F to see which one shoots best. There can be a major difference in accuracy.
