Default Need Dillon Shell Plate # for 45 AR

Does anyone happen to know off hand what the Dillon Shell Plate # for 45 Auto Rimmed is. I find it absolutely incredible that Dillon lists the plates on their site by number but not by calibers. Another Dillon innovation that keeps their information in house I guess. There is no chart online that I could find, that lists the shell plates and calibers they fit. I may have to just use my single stage and do 45 AR on that. Thanks in advance

Call Dillon.....seems like the last time I loaded 45 AR, I used either my 45 Colt or my 44-40 shell plate (which is the same as a .444 Marlin). going on memory here.......

Randy

PS. I seldom use 45 Auto Rims, I much prefer using .45 ACP and full moon clips in my S&W 25-2 in USPSA matches.

You didn't say which press model you need the shell plate for.

In the mid 80's I bought my 450. In the owners manual there was a list of shell plates and button numbers. Some plates had numbers and some had letters. I bought every plate they made at the time except 8mm Label and 45AR. Back then it was definitely different than 45 LC/44 Mag. you could try the 45 plate with a washer under it to make up for the thickness of the rim, maybe. (I think you miss the indexing ball at that point though).

I just found my paperwork from my upgrade to 550b from 10 +/- years ago;
#H shell plate part# 13610 (no other round uses this plate!)
#E powder funnel part# 13782
#4 locater pin part#14047 (set of 3)

The whole kit is #20158.

Hope this is what you needed.

Ivan

Glad you found the information you needed. If you download the manual for the Dillon press you have, near the end, they list everything you need by caliber. I included a screenshot from the RL550B catalog.
