Default Power Pistol 38 Spl 148 gr DEWC

I want to use Power Pistol (PP) with cast 148 gr DEWC. Hard to find load data but considering I want full service loads and not mid range target WC loads, I bet PP could give me a nice non +P load going approx 850 fps from a 4 inch revolver.

Any load suggestions? I was thinking 4.5 grs PP to start.

Wrong powder IMO, but use starting 158gr data & work up. PP will take compression pretty well. Ya kinda need a chrono to know when you have arrived though.

As long as you load for standard to +P pressures, not light powder-puffs, it should work just fine. Use 158 gr data, load to the same seating depth, not OAL, and you should get about the same velocity.

Look at your other recent post too.

Like already said, PP is the wrong powder. There are some things that just are and this is one of them. I suggest a faster powder.
