Hi guys, just found a good deal on a bunch of True Blue! Never used it before but see plenty of load data on it in my manuels. I just wanted to know if anybody else uses it and what your experiences have been with it.

Just for reference I load most revolver calibers from 38 Special to 500 S&W, but imagine it will see the most use in standard 45 Colt loads. Both in S&W model 25 and Ruger Bisley.

I use it when I reloaded for 57x28, It was "THE" powder for it. I also used it for .45 auto and 38 special. It meters very well, but it does take a lot of powder weight per case. Unique 5.5, true Blue 7.2 for the same velocity in .45 auto. All in all it meters well and burns clean.

Is it a bulky powder for its weight? I prefer bulky powders as my revolver calibers usually have a large capacity and it's easier to visually see a bulky powder charge as a safety feature when loading.

Here is a great thread on True Blue from another member, Mark in GA: http://smith-wessonforum.com/reloading/441209-ramshot-true-blue-vs-accurate-no-5-vs-hs-6-comparison-test-results.html

I recently made my first purchase of True Blue as well. Going to load up some .38 Special with the Rim Rock 158 SWCHP-GC bullet.

On a side note, the Rim Rock bullets are super nice. The shipping was very fast, and the packaging could not have been better. Totally impressed with Rim Rock.

Can't wait to try out my FBI clone loads.

Wow thank you so much! And many thanks to the guy that did the linked post. That was so much more than could hoped for!

True Blue has worked well for me in everything I've loaded with it. It really does a great job in 38 special +P and 9 mm. Meters well in the powder measure too. Ramshot has a lot of load data for it on their website, another big plus.

I recently loaded some 380acp with True Blue using a 100gr fmj bullet. The results was very satisfying . When I want stronger loads in 45acp or 40S&W , I grab True Blue . It is a very dense powder , not bulky . Yes it does require more powder , but no more than I shoot , a couple of grains more is not important . The performance is what I'm looking for .
