So a friend was generous enough to give me a very well cared for older D7 scale. I've been using this scale since Early 2019 and up until now, it has treated me well.

...right up until a few weeks ago. Out of nowhere, when I now trickle on the scale, it will get "stuck" near one tick below the 0 line. See the attached pic, it points to the sticking point.

I can trickle until I'm blue in the face but it will just sit there. If I pull the charge and re-sit it down on the scale, it goes off the charts with an over-throw. For the life of me, I can't figure out why it is doing this. Charge size doesn't matter, powder doesn't matter. I re-zero the scale every time I use it...but it just keeps doing this. I even cross checked it with calibration weights and it's good to go there with accurate readings, this is just when I'm trickling charges. It's not doing this in any predictable manner besides sticking somewhere near where the red arrow is. I can't predict it well enough to pull the pan in advance. I also tried pulling the scale apart and cleaning everything...that didn't help either.

Any help would be awesome, this is driving me nuts.

Try to see if it is rubbing somewhere, then adjust with file or something. I have been using a red Pacific scale since 1980 and yes it is a cheap scale, but I use it relative to the loads I have been shooting all these years. I make sure it is "0"d every time I start a new powder up session and weigh every charge when not using 231 or similar ball powders.

I take a "Q-Tip" and clean the balance point area and any where else dust can settle after a while.
Solvent then a little oil or kroil, then wiped with another Q-tip to remove any extra oil that might collect dirt or dust.

Mine will act up now and then and I will wiggle the arm back and forth a little, check zero , maybe tap the arm with a finger and then sit back and see if things are good again.

Just make sure that you don't drop it or let it fall over...........
which might damage it or bend the adjustment items.

Good luck.
