Local club has an indoor range that was built for frangible ammo.
Loading semi auto calibers with frangible bullets is not a problem, 9MM, 38 super, 40 caliber, 10 MM and .45 ACP.
Revolver, 38 special, is a completely different story where squibs are common, not for lack of powder. Additionally, these squibs are extremely difficult to dislodge. Club members have given up trying to load .38’s due to this
Factory frangible .38spl ammo is available and functions fine. I purchase a few boxes for the BUG stage of the club level IDPA matches through the winter. Matches go outside in warm weather and I can shoot all stages with wheel guns.
Anyone have actual experience with successfully loading frangible 38 special rounds?
Thanks, Kevin G
