Ran into this and just curious if any other new owners have this problem. I shot my first 7 sessions on the 11th of December in the afternoon. I downloaded the app to my tablet and downloaded the sessions. Everything looks good, except....the date and time, which says I shot these sessions on October 20 at 1:30 in the morning. I Have emailed Garmin and not had good luck at all. Sent them this pic, but they want it sent thru their secure file upload system. I've been trying, but it doesn't work. I'm just trying to figure out how to correct the date and time. I've asked them this , but they want a picture of the screen. Disregard the top line in the pic; that is just the info line on my tablet. the line in question is the one that has: Xero C1-3126- Oct 20 1:36 am

EDIT Just looked at my email and got this back from Garmin:

Hello Steve,

I did get an alert that as of this morning the tool is not functioning. They will work to get it back up as soon as possible.

We are sorry your C1 is showing an incorrect date for a shot session. This issue will be resolved in an upcoming software update, but at this time there is no way to alter the date on the C1 or app.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

I'm guessing that since you downloaded the app after using the Garmin, the Garmin had an old time stamp. When you connect the tablet to the Garmin, it should update the time stamp in the chronograph. I suspect now that you have the app, the problem will disappear.

The gist of it, it that the chronograph has no source of time/date info except from a tablet or phone. Maybe you can set it manually in the chronograph settings, but I haven't tried to do that.

I just checked my sessions on the app. I shot the sessions on the same day and uploaded them on the same day, being a day later. One session is dated December 2 while the other four sessions are dated October 19.

I'm guessing this is more a problem with the app. As Krogen mentioned, there's nothing on the chrono to set a date.

October 19 is the day Garmin released the chronograph to the public. Your observation supports the notion that the chronograph is initialized with a factory date and works from there until it connects to a date-cognizant device. Apparently, the bug is that the date cannot be set independently from the app.

I've had six chronographs in the last forty+ years. Each has had a quirk or two. Habits are hard to break; I still write the date down in my notebook along with wind conditions and temperature.

You hit it on the head. Just got back after sighting in a 22 and date and time are right on:)

As an alternative until Garmin finds a permanent solution, it's possible to rename the session in the app using the date as the first part of the name. The app seems to sort the sessions by date, but with the date in the name, you can still keep track of when the session was performed. It's a pain, but a workaround.

Sent the data from the cell phone app to my email. Entered data into a spreadsheet I had made with loading and fired dates. Not concerned with the date stamp from Garmin and as mentioned just add it into the notes in the data file.

I ordered one tonight from Scheels. My first order from them so I don't know if they are prone to cancellations. They still show availability online.

Scheels is excellent; a stand-up company. I predict you'll get a shipped notice inside of 24 hours after the order. Anything I've ordered from them has arrived rapidly. The concern right now is the carriers' performance the week before Christmas.

I know that they are a reputable company. I normally consider them on par with Bass Pro/Cabelas. I was just saying this was my first order with them. The reason for my comment regarding order cancellation was because I saw a post in another forum by a member saying he had placed an order with Scheels for the Xero and they cancelled it. Not knowing the circumstances or even whether he did have a confirmed order I should not have mentioned that.

I did get a tracking number today. I am not concerned with when it gets here as long as it does show up. In fact, if it is more than a few days it will be a surprise Christmas gift when I open it. My memory is that bad.

(A little off-topic re: "surprise gifts")

I love those surprise gifts from oneself.

Went into the smaller locked cabinet underneath my big gun cabinet where I keep larger gun parts, hunting holsters, and primers, and found an unopened brick of Federal LR match primers I completely forgot I had purchased a few years back.
I don't normally use the Federal primers which is probably why they went down the memory hole.
They are definitely in line to get used now.
Gives me an excuse to modestly re-workup a couple of loads that previously used WLR.

Every time I go up to Recob's I try to buy something, even if they don't have what I was looking for, just to make it worthwhile for the both of us.
For instance, you never know when a bag of shot will come in handy even if one is not currently loading shot shells.
