I ran out of 45acp bullets a few weeks ago and started surfacing the net for 230gr FMJ bullets for my 1911 and my 1917 S&Ws. I price shop like everyone else. I have used Berrys Bullets for several years but have never ordered them direct from the factory. I ordered 500 on 12/26/23 with free shipping. Has anyone else ordered then from Utah? Have not received a tracking number as yet. They may have been shut down for the holidays. Anybody here that orders direct from the factory. What say you?

Factory direct is ok if you can do it but

my Sportsmans Whse has at times, beat the factory price from a few bullet
makers, with their prices on 500 round boxs.

If our stores re-stock their shelves again, for the year 2024, we might see some more, good deals.

Right now their shelves are pretty bare.

Two weeks ago I had to go to Cabela's to pick up 1,000 9mm 124gr RN plated bullets, out the door for $94.

I have bought many thousands of bullets from Berry's over the years. One shipment was damaged in shipping, other than that no issues. Decent price and reasonably prompt delivery.

If they aren't sold out, the local Cabela's carries what I need and use up my points getting them cheap. Midway is a good deal when shipping is free. But the last batch I bought was at the NRA Convention last spring from the factory. I got a great price, free shipping, and I was the only person to pay with Hundred-dollar bills, and they didn't have correct change, so I got another $9.38 off. They could afford it, as I bought over $700 worth! That was for 124 gr 9mm, 125 gr 357 Sig HP's, 220 grain 300 Blackout and 110 grain 30 Carbine. My UPS guy wouldn't talk to me for a week!

Their 124gr 9mm HBRN-HP & HBFP-HP ( Hollow Base, Round Nose OR Flat Point, Heavy Plate) bullets are good for 1500 fps and are my favorite plated 9mms. When "On $ale": (occasionally) at Cabelas and with FREE $hipping! they can typically be right around $100 per 1000, which is a real deal IMHO.

Use them (the FPs) for 357 SIG loads as well.

Their 38/357 125 & 158gr FPTP also are good for 1500 fps and have a cannelure to boot! Ditto with 165 & 180gr FPTP in 40/10mm but sans the can... These Heavy Plated ones for those who like to load less expensive plated bullets at higher velocities for practice vs. more expensive JHPs.;)

Cheers!

I have ordered from Berry's several times without issue or cause for concern.
Also keep an eye on Rocky Mountain Reloading - they are out of 45ACP right now.
I picked up 500 230gr FMJ-RN (not plated) for $90 with free shipping about a year ago. Not sure if pricing has changed since then.

You can sometimes beat Berry's prices, but the others don't pay shipping. Also, the selection direct from Berry's is much greater than you'll find at retail outlets. They tend to stock the stuff they know will sell, ie RN, SWC maybe some flat point, but not necessarily.

It's been awhile, I don't recall ever receiving a tracking number and while they might take a bit to ship, it's coming free.

BTW, I've seen a few whines about undersized bullets. I've miced mine now and then and they've always been right where they're supposed to be.

Manufacturers should not (cannot) under cut their distributor/retail line. Otherwise those folks will not carry the brand.

Do not expect the best prices, directly, from a manufacturing company that distributes to their retail chain.
