Can't help you out with what powder to use but;
could you let us know how those new 200 gr GD's work out on
six gallon jugs of water ?
My next door neighbor, loves them.

I believe they are designed for 44 spl loads at 800 to 1000 fps, so perhaps they’re not meant to be shot at magnum velocities. Being a very desirable and not easy to o find SD bullet, I wouldn’t waste em shooting targets. Want to sell em?
If you do use em for target practice, I’d go with 8-9 grains of Unique.

Speer's manual has a section for this bullet with selection of powders. Using 231/hp-38 in a magnum case to get about 1070 fps and ex accuracy from 4 inch 44 mag. The bullet was designed around this velocity, and likely the mushroom will fold back against the bullet shaft is pushed to regular 44 mag velocity's.
44 mag case, fed 150 primer, 9.0 grains hp-38 = 1050 fps from 4 in Mt Gun and 1280 fps from 16 in rifle. Very accurate load

Dish, you’re going to have good luck with that projectile with #9, 2400, and H110. I have Specials for special velocities. I assume you want Magnums. My revolvers, which are 4 different configuration 629-4s, a SBH 7.5 inch and a couple of Anacondas, are not picky every one will shoot a good jacked bullet into the occasional 1.75 inch group at 25 heard.
But, my Ruger No.1 with a scope, and my Miroku with a Lyman 66 LA at 100 yards prefer 2400. I’m going to experiment with Magnum primers with 2400 to see if I can get a more complete burn.
You have a great gun and great bullets. The real answer is How much recoil is too much?
And yes, shoot some water filled containers. Good fun!

I would 'aim' for....
..just over 1000 fps to get max performance. The 200 gr Gold Dots are capable of expanding to over .7".
I think any of those powders will get that velocity. I know Unique and 2400 are good choices and I'm sure the others are, too. Take your pick. That is a lighter than magnum load so you may want to use a faster powder if it's cleaner. I think even W231/HP38 will get that velocity. Even Titegroup. I'm not sure how fast a Gold Dot would have to go to where performance is reduced, but I have seen where pistol bullets at carbine velocities don't penetrate well, from OVER expansion if I remember right. I'd think about anything between 1000 and 1200 fps would be great.

I haven’t seen Gold Dots in any revolver caliber in years. Anyone have a source? Either bullets or loaded rounds?

I’ve become a huge fan of CFE Pistol. Very clean and measures very consistent in my Dillon and Lee presses. Also very versatile. I have been using it in everything from .380 to 44 mag and had great results on Light Target loads to fairly hot loads. Won’t get the max velocity like 2400 and H110 but will get fairly close. With the 200 grain bullet, 8.5gr should get you around 1000fps and 13gr should push it around 1400.

Unique would be my choice. I'm using Speer Manual #15 as my reference.

Couple hundred years ago I shot 200r Hornady using 2400 well pleased especially the night time flash. Now a days I shoot Red Dot with 240g lead. Same satisfaction without the flash.

I have a few boxes of Gold Dot 200gr 44 Magnum short barrel factory loads.
These are rated at 1075 fps velocity -- kind of low end for 44 Magnum loads.
I bought then in case I ever decided to carry my 2.5 inch 629.
This load was discontinued several years ago by Speer.
