My brass, mixed head stamps. Not processed at all. I have approximately. 2000 rounds in 1 pound ziplock bags and 1500 rounds in 50 round plastic carriers.

It will also take two USPS flat rate boxes to ship these at $23 each.

About 3 cents---real close to scrap value.

2 years ago I was selling REALLY NICE---head stamp sorted, cleaned, de-primed, sized, flared mouths, polished, 9mm brass for $30 per 1000, + an extra 25 pieces just to make sure of hand counting. I was paying $25 for it, and the scouts that were doing all the work were keeping busy and raising funds for camp. They were getting it for free from a pair of indoor ranges.

Of course I have a lifetime supply, but I still pick up most of what I shoot.

I was at the indoor range last Friday and a man next to me was just blazing away with a 9MM handgun. He must have fired 200 rounds while I shot 50 in my 38. I have so much 9 brass that I didn't even bother to ask for his.

Since 9mm brass can usually be picked up completely free anywhere there is a lot of shooting done outdoors it is really worth nearly nothing. At one time I picked up so much 9mm and .40 S&W brass at places locally that see a lot of informal shooting that I bought guns in both calibers just because I had thousands of rounds of each I had collected! After shooting for over 60 years I am an inveterate brass scrounger. The exception is 9mm brass, I have so much I leave what I find laying on the ground anymore.:D

When I'm at the outdoor range, I pick up any reloadable brass I find. I keep 1000 of each caliber on hand for myself, and give 223, 9mm & 40 S&W away. All 45 ACP goes in my stash, 10mm goes to my ex B-I-L. The rifle brass is greatly appreciated, especially the 7.62x39!

During hard times I reloaded 9mm, now factory is $12 for 50. I can't reload for that.

just scraped some brass this week $2.20/ LB for brass, walked out with 72 bucks.
Its hard to compete with the big boys who have contracts with the shipping company's they can ship for a small fraction of what it will cost you. Most have good prices and free shipping.
I scrap mine.

The plastic carriers might have small value but as others have said it isn't hardly worth shipping. 1000 38 cases fit in a medium flat rate USPS box, 1500 9mm might. The only way I would try to sell it is if it were a long trip to a recycle center.

It's all 9mm luger. Will scrap operations take it with the dead primers?

they will , no problem there. I had some other brass that did not bring the same price as the cartridge brass. the cartridge brass brings top dollar.

How much is any once fired brass worth? If you're not getting it from a very trustworthy source, how do you really know how many times it's been fired? I stick to buying new brass.

I just sold about 1000 rounds at an auction (which was also on-line as well as in person). It averaged about .01 per round. I had it bagged in 300 per bag and getting about $3.00 per bag. It was all sized and de primed and cleaned. Got slightly more for 45 acp and less for 38 Special. i00 rounds of matching head-stamp 44 Mag did bring $6.00.

Scrap price by weight @ local junk yard.

The price of yellow brass scrap can range from $1.10 to $2.30

Last month I sold two 5 gallon buckets of empty range brass, not deprimed, for $230/pound. About 150 pounds, most of it 9mm and .223. All of it was picked up at my Fish and Game range while on a shooting outing. Last October it was $180/ pound. With the cost of primers being what they are, it isn't worth reloading 9mm or .223. But selling them as scrap sure is a great way to raise funds to buy primers and other stuff.

If it isn't currently manufactured it might be worth a lot, especially if the parent case is also awol. 356 and 307 Winchester come to mind.

I remember buying a large flb of 40 S&W in the early part of the century for $35. I bought 600 rds of 32 Long brass primed for $20. Sometimes it's the best way to go especially when you get 20+ firings out of 32 Long brass.
