Lets see your S&W belly guns
Wyatt Burp started one of these photo threads on the Coltforum.
I thought it would be fun to start one here too.
I'm putting this in the antique section but I think it should be open to any S&W with a short barrel. I like the old stuff the best. Here's my .38 that I've posted before that has been cut down at some point. It was made in the 1880s:

You know how much I like your breaktop .44. Well this is a great shoulder holster back up for that gun. This gun is fantastic. It looks more symetrical short like this than longer. To me anyway. You shoot it?

I've never fired it. Its a black powder era gun but most of the discussions I read here seem to not really discourage shooting smokeless in the old .38 and .32 S&Ws. A few rounds probably wouldn't hurt it.
The only problem is the single action sear or notch in the hammer is worn out. The hammer will drop if you push the back of it when its cocked or if you pull the trigger slow in single action it will decock.
DA works okay though. I'd like to find another hammer or sear for it and see if it cures the problem.

Here's
My Belly Band Cut Down .32 Back up. Thought if I needed it bad enough I wouldnt need any sights. Rescued form being Destroyed and then had it reworked. The Barrel was dented in bad at the end so I had my friend help me with the rework and had it rechromed by a friend who just started a chrome shop back in Texas 1990 or so ago. Total cost to me was $27.00.

Gator, Those are a very nice. The J frames must be a favorite of yours, to invest a lot of $$$$$$ in them. My simple M-36 carry gun doesn't have the class of yours.......but, it does the job, anyway. Bob

I'll second the big belly theory. These two are my favorite "small dog, big bite" guns. .44 spcl and 10mm.

Great looking gun. Did you fill in that dumb safety key hole above the cylinder release? Looks like it has been filled in.

[QUOTE=Cocked & Locked;1200859]another for the big belly...2.5" pre-lock 629-5 .44 mag. #013 of 300 guns made for Camfour Dist. Co. in year 2000.
Awesome gun. I LOVE that it has fixed sights. Nice snag free .44
Why S&W didn't do this on a regular production gun I dont know.
They did it with the .41 Magnum with the 4 inch barrel.

I put this one on my Christmas wish list in that other thread...
Has anyone ever seen a Frontier DA with a snub nosed barrel?
If I could find just a barrel for one I'd cut it down to have an extra
snub nosed barrel for mine.
