Default No.1, 2nd Issue and the Civil War

Anybody have a fairly reasonable serial number cut-off date for a No.1,2nd Issue and the end of the Civil War???

In other words would #112,657 possibly be a CW gun??

Dean, Comparison of ship dates and serial numbers in my data base tells me that Model One production during the Civil War was at approx. serial number 78,000 when the war ended. You find some overlaps, etc. due to the fact that shipments did not go to the distributors in serial number sequences, as we all know. Total productin was 115,000 of the Model One, 2nd issue. Highest serial number is approx. 127,000 as the First and Second models were numbered sequentially, beginning with No. 1 of the First Model through No. 127,000 of the 2nd model. Hope that helps, No. 112,657 would have shipped around 1867. Ed. #15
