I am new to the forum and am looking for a little help in pinning down the date of manufacture. I would like to narrow down the date of manufacture on a 32 hammerless S#72347.

The 32 safety hammerless 1st model was made from 1888 to 1902. Serial numbers range from 1 to 91417. I would suspect that yours was manufactured toward the end of the run, sometime after 1900.

Kelly Green is right about the serial number. May I ask how did you come to regard your gun as a fourth model hammerless rather than a first?

Serial # 6868x shipped on 12/1898, #8671x shipped on 8/1899, #8818x shipped on 1/1900. Yours probably shipped in 1889 but there is no gaurantee of that because they didn't always ship in numerical order.
