Revolving rifle
I am a fan of revolving rifles and did own a replica once. Sold when it broke down.
Now I saw this on a gun auction site in Germany. (I am From Holland)
The description says is being in superb condition and well documented.
The start price is about $ 20.000. I read about these rifles and I think I remember that the red/black forehand is original?
I was only curious If that is a normal price? At such prices I will never own one.
I have seen this rifle a few times past years and I don't think here in Europe it will be sold for that money this time.
When someone needs the link to the auction send me a pm.

Yes, This is a normal price for a Smith revolvingrifle. I found one priced for 14500 euro. The one you show is 14429 euro.
I have to say that the 14500 euro is the askingprice.
The gun is owned by Ives Devos a Belgian antiquegundealer.
I couldend afford it either.
By the way. I am from Holland to.

The shoulder stock isn't correct for / original to the rifle. Not to mention that it's nickel-plated, it is for a standard New Mod. # 3 revolver - and won't lock down on this rifle.

My Revolving Rifle (SN #1) has that same stock, except it is blue. I understand that the last rifles were made to fit this type of stock. It would help if we knew the serial number.

I don't know if it will be sold in Holland, but Taurus is coming out with a new revolving rifle based on "The Judge" revolver.
Should be slightly less money

.320 Revolving Rifle # 932 16 inch
Here is a picture of a 16 inch with serial # 932. I have owned this one about 10 years. The grips are numbered to the gun and the same material as the forehand. The wood looks darker than the one you have pictured and the attaching portion is blued as the gun is blued.

Revolving rifle
Here is an 18" S&W 320 Revolving rifle my grand father gave me when he passed away 8 years ago. The front sight is missing and the serial number is 911.
Since I was a little kid I remembre de rifle on his house chimney. Once or twice a year I would take my gun cleaning kit and do some cleaning.

Are the black hard rubber grips replacements on this gun? I do not recall ever seeing a revolving rifle without the red mottled grips?

I would consider serious offers. Keep in mind, it was owned by Joseph Wesson, it has the short tang. I was told by leading S&W collectors that my rifle was used as the model for the catalogs pictures and the image used on the cartridge boxes.
It does not have a case. I have the front sight and the tang sight.
