Default Model Number One, Third Issue

I recently acquired a model one third issue. It is missing the front sight blade. I would like to know where, if at all, I could find one or something that would work. ( Already checked with Dave C.)

Thank you

artic2,
There isn't much to the Front Sights for these Revolvers. It isn't much more than a Brass Blade pressed into the exposed slot in the barrel. It is going to be hard for me to send you any kind of template because once they're removed they generally don't press back in as tightly. I would say the best thing to do is find one of these revolvers locally so you can get an idea of the profile & experiment. I'll look around here and see if I have something close to a parts gun that has a decent front sight blade & PM you if I do. That's about all I can do. I see you've already contacted Dave Chicoine and if he doesn't have one I doubt there is an outlet for a new or reproduced one. He would surely have let you know if there were. He's a great guy!!

Thank's, I appreciate the help. I'll have to scratch my head and try to figure out who would carry material that would fit.

Arctic2, my #1 Second issue blade mics .028. My #1 Third issue nickle plated blade mics .029. As close as I can tell they have a 1/4" radius to the top. I would try cutting a piece of 22 gage brass with slightly larger dimensions that include width and depth, then file to finish more accurately. If your not so inclined, talk with a mechanic or machinist.
