Default Second model Russian

I'm considering purchasing a 2nd mod****ssian. It seems to be about a 70% gun except it has had a non factory blue job.
Not carefully done some edges are some what rounded. All the lettering is visable. It is a commerercial gun,.44 russian cal.
in the 8800 ser. range,w/SH next to the butt swivel. They are
asking $800 for the piece. Does this seem like a reasonable price for this revolver. Dennis Vertrees #1388

I think I might have trouble calling it a 70% gun...
It sounds more like a not so good refinished shooter.
$800 sounds a little steep as it is not a "collector" and probably won't appreciate much, if at all.
If I just wanted a shooter, I might think of looking for a used modern replica..... I think they retail new for around a thousand, so you should be able to find a used one in the $800 price range.

The saying 'a rising tide raises all boats' applies to old guns too. Inflation has raised the prices of old guns but increasing population and more people wanting them probably a greater factor. As for 'collector interest' I remember (1930s) when an 'old brown Colt SAA' was worth maybe $2, Today $500 up. I bought a good one 50% for $5 back then.

If the 'gun controllers' are kept at bay, any old gun in halfway decent condition will appreciate. How fast, how much, time will tell.
