Default Help dating a S&W .32

Need help on dating a S&W .32. It is a blued revolver with pearl grips that I suspect are not original. It is a top break with auto ejector and has an exposed hammer, DA. On top of the barrel reads: Smith and Wesson Springfield, Mass U.S.A and on the side reads 32 S&W CTG. Ser#'s on cylinder and butt end of grip are: 315917 .. Any help would be geatley appreciated.

There were five models of the .32 top break hammer guns. Your serial number would indicate the fifth model which was made from 1909 to 1919. The top serial number was 327641, indicating yours being made later in that period.Pictures would help to evaluate condition and value.

Thanks for the info, I had good intentions on posting a photo but could not figure it out. The only thing I find wrong is that it will not stay cocked in single action position. DA works well.
