Brad - Officially you have a 44 Double Action First Model, also called New Model Navy in 44 Russian caliber. It was shipped from the factory in the early 1890s. I am thinking you have the standard 1 7/16" cylinder, since the flutes are shorter than on the 1 9/16".

Historically, values for these large frame revolvers were quite low compared to their single action predecessors, but have been coming up some in recent years. Looking at the picture, it is hard to tell the amount of original finish left and the stocks look worn as well. If it is in good working order and there is some original finish remaining, I would say it would sell for around $700-$800 today.

Glowe,
Thanks for the data. I went back with a pair of reading glasses and you are correct about the Cyc. length. Finish appears original and about 85% worn stocks but the gun cocks, locks and times well.
Thanks again, Brad #1977
