Snap Caps for S&W DA 's ?
I'd like to display my S&W DA's with Dummy Bullets, so as to both protect the Firing Pins, and show Function. I'd like to display them with brass showing, as well.
I don't like A-Zooms - they are the wrong color and are expensive.
DummyBullet.com has brass cased Snap Caps, but they only have .32 Auto and .38 Special.
Will these sizes work for my purpose ?

Assuming your DAs are top breaks, why not just use standard .32 & .38 S&W ammo. with the powder removed? Pull the bullets, dump the black powder, fire the rounds to pop the primers, & put the bullets back. Ed.

Yes, they are Top Breaks.
Yours is a good suggestion.
But I have no experience in doing that. At the very least I'd end up scratching everything with pliers so badly the end result would be ugly as sin.
And I can't help but be worried I'd actually set one off accidentically.
Dummy Bullet drills a hole through the sides of each Dummy to identify it as safe.
I won't have Dummies that look just like Live Rounds - Accidents happen.

SalemCat, If you feel that your inexperience will cause a problem, do this: Buy some blank .32 and/or .38 cartridges and fire them in your guns. Use the fired cases as your "snap cap" dummy rounds. Blanks can be bought on line and at larger sporting goods stores and sometimes at tool stores that sell tools that use blank cartridges to operate, such as stud guns, etc. Both Remington & Winchester make them, and some other makers also. Ed.

I'm sure someone will come along shortly to tell you what kind it is and when it was made.
It might have been a collector's find at one time, but it sure isn't now...not with that butchered barrel. A shame, really.

It clearly is a Single-Action, Top-Break, and appears to be a .32 Caliber.
I do not like to be the bearer of bad news, but this firearm is in really bad condition.
The plating is nearly gone; the original black rubber grips have been replaced with homemade wooden ones; the barrel cut down; there is a missing pivot screw, and who knows how worn and loose the mechanicals are.
I certainly would not fire it.
If I owned it I would be pleased to sell it for $50, but even then a buyer may not be easy to find. $25 may be more realistic, and that would be for parts, if there are any left inside that are really usable. Maybe the hammer or a spring ?
My advice would be to list it on GunBroker and hope for the best - that's what I would do.
