Default Need assistance identifying a couple top-break revolvers?

I have a couple top-breaks that need identifying.
image1.jpg
Serial Number - 37120
image.jpg
Serial Number - 49283

I'm curious to know the model, year and approximate value of each for insurance purposes.
They look like they're in pretty rough shape, but I have know idea.
(Sorry about the reflections on the glass)
My father left them to me when he passed on.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Welcome! The top one is a model 1 1/2 from sometime in the early-mid 1880s, and the bottom one a .32 Double Action from about the same era. If they are mechanically sound they are worth about $200-250 each.

Any family story behind them? Hope this is helpful.

Welcome to the Forum. You didn't tell us the calibers, however assuming they are both .32CF, then the top gun, 37120, is a .32 Single Action Model 1 1/2 Centerfire, made about 1885. The bottom gun, 49283. is a .32 Double Action made about 1886. Condition is poor for both revolvers, so collector value is very small, probably in the range of $ 175 to $250 for each. As family heirloom guns they are priceless, of course, but you can't insure sentimental value. Ed.

Unfortunately, there were lots of those revolvers manufactured, and only those specimens in top condition bring big bucks.

Default Thanks for the info!

Thanks for the info. I still like the way they look, and the way my father had them framed.
Not sure of any family stories behind them. He had the guns hanging on a wall by some Civil War items.
Guess he was a little off the mark there. It will be fun to see what I can find out about them.
Thanks again, really appreciate the assistance.
