Age of 1st Model S&W .32 Safety Hammerless New Departure Lemon Squeezer?
I am taking possession of a 1st Model S&W .32 Safety Hammerless New Departure Lemon Squeezer.
The serial number is 74437 and I would like to know the date of manufacture. Specifically, I want to know whether if falls under the laws for "antique" or "curio and relic".
I reside in Peoples Republik of Kalifornia if anybody has insight into that.
Thanks in advance,
Lucas

Those below 91,400 are an antique, so yours is indeed an antique.
The attached is a great reference:

Welcome to the Forum Lucas. To be specific, your revolver was most likely shipped in 1897. You should have no problems with ownership or future transfer, until they change the laws again in your state.

BTW - there is an updated Pre-1899 Antique Guns FAQ available from 2009. Some changes, but I think the S&W section remains essentially the same.
