Default Factory letter: Current wait time?

Just fishing for some recent experience. I'm waiting for a letter on a .32 hammerless. It's coming up on 4 months since they deposited my check, and I'm wondering when it'll be appropriate to bug them with a call in case something got mislaid. It's my first S&W letter, so I lack experience what to expect. Colt says 4 months, but my last few from them took less than three.
Any input is appreciated.
(Now that I've asked, it'll probably be in my mailbox on Monday.)

Roy was out with a Knee Surgery for a couple of Months...Roy Jinks is the Historian that does the Letters..Currently there is about a 4-5 month wait...

I would imagine you should have it Anytime...Probably in your mailbox on monday like you said...

The wait is a killer, but sometimes its well worth it..

Hope this helps.

Jim

Just for reference, I think Jim is right on target. My check was cashed on Oct. 15 & the letter has not yet arrived, so I'm at about 130 days. I would expect it in about a month from now, Which would put it at appx. 150 day turnaround. -- Just have to wait until your number comes up.

Thanks for the heads up. I just sent a request and check for the history of my Grandfather's S&W Model 1. I guess I shouldn't look for anything until summer.

My last request went in around the end of July, 2013 and the factory letter arrived in mid-October. The wait was worth it.

The last I heard Roy had about 800 letter requests in the que. Considering all that he does for S&W and the collectors of S&W's, it is amazing to me that he has time to eat.

UPDATE:
Okay, so it wasn't Monday, but it was indeed in the mailbox today, believe it or not. So pretty much exactly four months from the date I mailed the form and check.
Nothing earthshaking, but I find the history behind any of the guns in my collection interesting and well worth the money. If anyone reads this who keeps track of such things, .32 hammerless #145,0XX shipped on Oct. 20, 1906 to the Dunham, Carrigan and Hayden Co. in San Francisco.
Oddly, this is my third gun in a row that letters to the Bay Area. First was an Army Colt that shipped to the Benicia Arsenal in 1901, then a Colt Vest Pocket to the Pacific Hardware and Steel Co. in S.F. in 1911, and now this one. And I acquired none of these from anywhere near there.
