Default Strain screw for S&W 1 1/2 centerfire

Where can I find a strain screw for a S&W model 1 1/2 second issue center-fire? When I purchased this revolver it had a after market strain screw with an allen wrench type head. It just does not look right. The end of this screw goes through a hole in the hammer main spring. Any help appreciated. Jimbo

Sounds like you have a 'Bubba Special " gun that someone may have damaged beyond reasonable repair, if the screw they used has stripped the threads in the frame and they must have bored a hole in the mainspring, as there is no hole in an original spring. Bottomline: Even if you find a replacement S&W strain screw it won't fit due to damaged thread and you may still need to replace the main spring with a spring sans hole. Sell the gun and buy one that's original. Ed.

I would recommend contacting Sam1947 on here for any screw needs. He made a sideplate screw for my 1 1/2 CF and it fits perfectly.
