S&W Topbreak w/ Pearl stocks & a holster
This arrived today. It is serial # 145xxx. Which variation is it? DOB??
The MOP stocks are genuine. Mechanically, it needs some work. It seems to function some of the time and will intermittently lock up. It was $69 plus the freight. So,it'll get a visit to the gunsmith sometime down the road.
The holster is very interesting. I can't recall ever seeing a flap holster this small before.
Best,
Charles

That flap holster is of an earlier time period than the gun, and may have been altered to better fit the gun, by shorting it's original length. The gun is a Safety Hammerless, 4th model, made about 1901, or so. The pearl stocks are after market stocks and not factory made. Factory stocks for this period in time had the S&W medallions . Ed.

Thank you sir!
It is still very cool that someone carried their "pearl handled" .32 in this holster!

Those are a prime example of why mother-of-pearl stocks were not very popular. They not only were very brittle and did not hold up well to use, they were quite slippery to the point that S&W stopped offering them on their large caliber revolvers. That is one well worn Safety you found there. Wonder where all it has been for the last 115 years?
