At the last local gun show a walk in came to my table and had a model 91 single shot for sale . he walked away with my money and the gun stayed .Don't think i will ever find a box for it ,just looking at it this week and it had to have a box.So drag out the table saw and many other tools ,this is what HAPPENED.

The term OUTSTANDING!!! comes to mind---the pistol-----the box----I just looked outside, and damned if the weather isn't better too.
And most of them are .22's---interrupted every now and then, but not often, by a lonesome .32 or .38.
One of THE BOOKS says there are 862 .22's. I reckon there's a bunch more----maybe 3-400----best guess. The same book says there are 230 .32's. I know for a fact there's at least one more than that ('cause THE BOOK says the one I had is a .22)----and THE BOOK says there are 160 .38's, and I don't know nuthin' 'bout them at all----'cept I had a barrel for one once----'cept it weren't never part of a gun.

Hey Ralph, don't forget the one 38-44 Target SS barrel from the factory that I put on my Model 1891 Target revolver. That one is not on the books either.
It also needed a case, so my solution was to buy an old silverware box and do a few modifications. I even left the finish original, scratches and all.

The original factory presentation cases were lined with chamois leather. I went down to the auto store and bought a couple and soaked them in paint thinner, then washed them several times. I then saturated the chamois with silicone spray and let that dry before making up the interior. Seems to have worked with no issues storing the gun in the box. Here is an image of a factory case.

Now that is excellent work. Beautiful box. Wood doesn't cooperate with me as well as steel does
