Have to admit I was in a real quandry re where to post this because it could be in 2 or 3 different area's, but since this episode involved a Volcanic, here we are...

Anvil Gunsmithing is a spin off from the Primer series* (HIGHLY recommended) and works on a lot of exotic stuff. This guy works on Ian McCollum's guns!

I learned (re-learned?) some things from that last video. Good stuff.
In the late '80s, I was a trained to be my 81mm mortar platoon's "Qualified Unit Armorer" in the event a company-level armorer was inaccessible, for whatever reason. I went to 82nd Abn. Div. Armorer School about a year before the switch to the Beretta 92F. The course covered a number of small arms, but I've always been a fan of JMB's most iconic design.

Good thread!
Thank you.

Started watching Anvil - Mark Novak on Youtube a couple of months ago. I am hooked. Great deal of plain old common sense in approaching different jobs. I hunt for new episodes every night.

First 75 Anvils

When Mark broke his production schedule off from C&Rsenal's, Utoob dumped the 1st 75 Anvils. They (Mark, not Utoob) are selectively reposting some of the earlier epsodes.
Some of the hidden treasures are the 'Moments with Mark' shorts. Short lead up: the guy aced the ASVAB upon enlisting in the Navy and became a nuke boat electrician. Enjoy (Naval-speak warning).

Mark must of had several vocations before gunsmithing, I've heard him mention teaching in his past? Very talented man.

Ah, nostalgia. Reminiscent of standing Machinery 2 Upper Level and reactor compartment watches while navigating to water deep enough to dive out of Charleston harbor. Puke buckets were de rigueur.
