What do I Have? Model of 91?
Found this online recently. Never seen the like before. Someone put some time into it.... or maybe not.
Its got a Smith and Wesson barrel on it so its probably pretty accurate!

Looks like the color doesn't match closely on the grip frame vs the barrel portion. Do the two portions have the same serial number?

The barrel does not have a serial number and the frame serial number is on the bottom of the trigger guard. The frame I think is an Iver Johnson while the barrel is Smith and Wesson. There are no markings on the top of the barrel. The rear sight looks like a Smith and Wesson perfected target sight. Odd combination.

No, not a Model of '91 (a single action------.38 Single Action 3rd if my remembering is working-----the foundation of the 1st Model Single Shots---and the 2nd Model S.S.'s too---albeit after they'd messed with it some).
That's about all I have, given no interest/knowledge in/of anything besides target guns. (That said, some of these funky little double actions were available as targets (.38 4th/5th/Perfected models). This I know from book learnin', 'cause I've never seen but one of them (a 5th) as an original target.) This one figures to be a 4th or 5th, 'cause it clearly isn't a Perfected.

Put together
It’s definitely a put together. The ejector is a replacement. Nicely done though.
Is the barrel length original? If so it’s a rare length.

As an aside, given the barrel has been cut, you can spot it a mile away (if (IF) it's a .22).
The .22 top break Single Shots (the barrels) were mated to center fire actions----which, of course, does not compute. They made it work (with both center fire and rim fire---in the case of the 1st Models) by way of boring the .22 barrels on a bias---such that the center fire hammer/firing pin strikes the .22 rim fire cartridge on the rim-----and all's right with the world!
Given a cut .22 barrel, the bore (at the muzzle) is going to be off center with the barrel--which you can spot a mile away---or maybe a little bit closer---but you can spot it.
All things considered, that was pretty sneaky.

Definitely put together. The frame is not S&W. The frame looks like it has some H&R lineage or IJ. S&W would have a side plate on the left side of a double action Top Break.
