Wow, you guys take some nice pictures. When I get time, I'm going to try to improve on my photo skills. As for now though, here are some pics of a few of my top-breaks. The only reason I picked these is because they are some of the better pictures I have.
Here's a pair of 1891 Single Shots in .22 LR. Bought one of these pistols and when we received it, it had been shipped in the case. I thought it was quite a find.
Here's a nickel 1891 Single Shot in .22 with British Proof Marks
A .38 Double Action with 6" Barrel
Here's a .38 Single Action Model of '91 with box
And finally a New Model 3 in .44 Russian
When I get around to it, I'm going to dig out all my Top-Breaks (just over 50 of them) and try and get some good pics, especially of the higher condition and more rare ones. Thanks for the cool thread and congrats on some fine S&W Top-Breaks.

1891 Single Shot,
Outstanding display of break tops, as have been those shown by the others. I look forword to the pictures of the others when you dig them out.
On the 22 cal. do you have any olympic or Pope barrels?
Thanks for the pics.

Thanks Pete and no, I don't have any Olympic or Pope barrels. I have a small collection of Single Shots, about a dozen, and probably half a dozen extra single shot barrels, and none have the Pope markings. I believe the Olympic barrels are only found on the Third Models, and that is one of the Models I have yet to acquire. Don't find many of these in my area, and the ones I find on the internet seem to bring top dollar. I guess I'll have to break down one of these days and go after one. Thanks again for the compliment. Randy

Just wanted to show everyone a little something I just picked up from David Carroll. My picture taking isn't the best, but it is a 32 safety hammerless third model in 99% condition. Basically like new. It is so beautiful. Thanks David.

Not sure what Model it really is. I've been told Model 1 but I think its a Model 1 1/2.
Its pretty rough looking but the hammer and trigger still work but the top break is really loose. I'd like to get it restored but I don't know anyone who does that kind of work.

My 1-1/2 .32 S&W Centerfire:
I've had it at the range once, using some Magtech, less then 800 fps ammo, lead round nose bullet. Very tame ammo, fun little gun to shoot. Got it last year at an Antiques Show in Charleston, SC.

Three 32 Safety Hammerless revolvers with special grips. The pearl grips aren't all that uncommon but they sure are beautiful. The factory ivory medallion grips are uncommon. The wood grips are my favorites. They didn't come on that blue 3rd model all though it is in the correct serial number range. I have the hard rubber grips that came with it put away. Those wood grips may be one of a kind. They are factory very special order, special order grips. They were I believe custom made by the factory for someone who knew what he wanted. They are quite thick and use the screw that fits the thick part of regulation police grips. Normally when you ordered special order grips you checked a box on an order form. These grips were never in a catalog that I can find. Wood grips for the 38 Safety Hammerless grips were, but not 32. I got them from an early member of the S&WCA. I have asked every one I can find if they have ever seen any like them and have gotten no positive responses. ED C or Mike M this is your chance to chime in with what what you can tell me about them, you guys have been doing this a lot longef than I have. The checkering pattern is like that found on I frame grips from 1930 to 1949. 32 Safetys where made till 1937, butt very few were sold after 1930. Can you tell that I like these old Safety grips.
Mark

cflier, I have only heard about wood stocks on the ,32's. I always assumed that they were replaced by later owners(from ???). I don't have any .32's with wood stocks. I think more research is in order. Maybe Ed C can shed some light on your quandry; he may have been nosing around the factory about that time. Mike M.

I like those wood grips.
This 4th Model Merwin Hulbert is another type top break. Kind of a top twist. These wood grips I also like. This is one of a matching pair of M&H Frontier Army 44-40's.

Terry,
That is a beautiful 4th Model Merwin, and to be one of a matching pair is unbelievable!
I own a 4th model too that is a single action, factory engraved and with ivory grips. It was obviously carried alot but still really neat to look at. You've got to love top-break Smiths and top-break Merwins.

Levallois,
That old Merwin speaks!!!! Good honest wear!! You just have to wonder where it has been and the action....you know the old saying.
My 4th model pictured is the better of my pair. I think one was used and this one watched over the dresser drawer.

Hello All,
Posting a picture of the right side of this frame which is a First Model Single Shot or could be a 3rd Model Single Action.
The main reason for me posting this is to Research the ROLLSTAMP S&W TRADEMARK monogram on the frame and when it started. It appears to have been added to the frames somewhere past 15,196 serial numbers. We know for sure it is on the serial number 15348. Thanks guys and any help will be appreciated.

My digi camera is pretty old so this isn't great, but here's my attempt at an interesting composition. It's funny, I've had that old holster for ages. It was passed down through my family. I believe it was actually a rifle scabbard first then someone somewhere along the line cut it down and made a pistol holster out of it. Today was the first time I put that old Frontier DA in it and it fit like a glove! The old Stetson hat belonged to my Grandfather.

Old school, new school. The nickel revolver was used by an uncle to guard his store in a small town in rural Virginia - I guess around 1915.

Photos of your antique S&W model Top Breaks (Tip ups)
Here are a pair of Model 1 3rd issues. Note the cylinder on the right. The 7 shooter cylinder has been replaced with a non fluted 5 shot that was made by a very cleaver fellow whom I have no idea of his identity. I imagine that the owner tried to fire 22 short high speed loads in the original cylinder.

Do I interpret the markings on the medals correctly? The medals were won in 2006 - 2007 shooting this revolver?

It's a Model Number Two Old Army (No. 2 Old Army)
.32 Rimfire 6 shot with smooth rosewood grips.
S/N Range is 1-77,155 and total Manufactured was 77,155 between 1861-1874
**Note: The hammer appears to be bobbed since all references I have indicate a hooked hammer. Just thought you might want to know.
I really enjoyed seeing it.... Thanks.

That checkered trigger sounds very cool and unusual. Do you have any closeups of the trigger? I bet very few people here have seen one of these with that feature.
Thanks for posting this Lobo. Great gun!
