Default Jordan's vision realized

By my guess, Bill Jordan was instrumental in developing the Combat Magnum. I had been looking for a first year Combat Magnum (after helping my dad find his) and finally came across this one at a local shop. The marks on the right hand side of the target stocks lead me to believe that it might have been carried by someone in LE. Roy Jinks says it shipped July 1956. The leather is all S.D. Myres (El Paso, TX), set up for uniform work, or dressier affairs.

For your viewing pleasure - First year Combat Magnum, Myres leather (except the blackjack, it is unmarked). Some metal piercing 357 Magnum ammo, and plenty of 158gr high speed.

The Combat Magnum ushered in a whole new generation of LE guns. Feel free to share yours here.....and we all love pictures right?

I have two Combat Magnums - one is a beat up 4" M19-3 I got from this forum for a good price, and the other is a M19-3 snubbie in beautiful shape I got from my LGS for a decent price. About a year after I bought it, my LGS found the box to the snubbie so I got it as well.

But, I did give you first shot at the first Myres holster shown... In case inquiring minds are wondering the photo shows his great grandparents, one being the first Texas Aggie in the family: class of 1906. That one was followed by a grand uncle, and a father. SAfireman is the 4 generation to graduate from that school. Mrs. SAfireman is also a heritage Aggie. I know... more than anyone wanted to hear. Gig Em!

Here's a pair of my Combat Magnums. One from the first week of production and the other very late production just prior to becoming the Model 19...

Here's my best Combat Magnum K260903, shipped 1/18/57 (kind of late, I think). I purchased it several years ago from a forum member, and have been forever grateful.

For me, this is about as good as it gets...

Here’s my Combat Magnum. Factory refinished, it had rosewood targets on it which are put away somewhere. S/N 317XXX. It’s been in a lot of holsters and has been shot frequently.

In a Myres Border Patrol Holster.

Regards,
turnerriver

John,

That Myres rig is exquisite! Does it have the metal form in the loop & body?

Take care.

Sadly, here is my only model 19 - a 4" 19-4 with Target Trigger & Hammer, but no red front sight. (and yes, the grips have been replaced!)

Someday I'd like to run into a 1958 version - just because...
