Default ...another gun returns home.

The pictured gun is compliments of my collector friend. When I was at his house last month he asked if I would like to share another one of his collectibles that he just got back after selling to his nephew in the 1960s with all the folks on the S&W Forum.

The gun belonged to one of his friends..trick shooter Ernie Lind. It was engraved in Germany but when and by who have been lost in time.

Enjoy...

You notice that the scrimshaw work on the grips are worn...that was because this was not only a show piece but a working part of Ernie's show.

I believe the 2" IS the original barrel and the 4", that is not numbered under the ejector rod, a much newer barrel.

The 2" ejector rod is missing however...

That is all real ivory...notice the built in Tyler T-grip style filler and carving on the grips backstrap...and if you would kill for those grips what about these on Ernie's other gun?

Dot Lind shooting the gun with the aid of a mirror...nice to have a wife who can put on make up and shoot at the same time...

Another absolutely beautiful one. Now you are killing me! :>) Those are tremendous pieces. For some reason, I would really like critters engraved on my guns. Thank you for the pictures.

WOW! Outstanding. Very unique. I love those grips, have never seen grips with Ivory panel inset. I don't think you'll pick up a set like those at Bass Pro Shop. It's wonderful the wear on the gun shows it was a working gun, doing what it was built to do.
