4-inch N-frames, Cal. 45, 44, and 41
These are four of my favorite N-frames and I have shot all of them. The first is a 1955 Target 45 rebuilt from a 1950 Target 45 by S&W in 1955 (it is also fitted with a rare 4-inch barrel numbered to the frame); second is a 44 Magnum fitted with bark ivory Magnas by Don Collins, it is an early gun shipped in early November 1956; third is a 1950 Target 44 that was shipped in March 1955; and last is a 41 Magnum shipped in December 1964.

Bill,
Again, VERY, VERY nice!
Those 4" n-frames are something else! I'm not sure which set of stocks are my favorite. The ivory looks good, but then so does the plain ones... but the diamonds are really good, especially the ones with the beautiful grain.
Thanks for posting!

The first and third made me light headed. Glad I was setting down (LOL).
Beautiful guns and excellent photography. Thanks for the post.

Very nice! I also find the four inch N frame fit's the bill, so to speak. My fave is a 25-5 in .45 Colt although my new model 21 and 22 are nipping at it's heels. Thanks for shareing those beauty's!

Very nice show!
I have said many times that I prefer the 5" barrel to all others, but that 4" .45 seems to be so well balanced between cartridge and gun size.
They are all quite spectacular to look at though.
Do you have a 4" .45 with the red ramp also, or am I thinking of your 8 3/8" gun?

G4F...It is the 25-2 with an 8 3/8-inch barrel that has the RR front sight.

Wonderful photos, thanks for the inspiration. I have my eye on a couple of 4" N frames (27-2 & 28-2) right now, just waiting to see how things turn out.
