The grips are aftermarket and condition is hard to gauge due to the picture quality. I would say you are at the high end of the price range for this model.

Are the grips wood or plastic? Without seeing the gun or at least more pictures with closeups of the barrel, cylinder & markings it is hard to say, but $350 is not an unreasonable price for this revolver is good used condition with solid mechanics and no barrel pitting, rings or other issues, in my experience. As I said: at the high end, but not laughable.
You might want to list it in the classifieds at that price and see who bites. Plenty of clear pictures will help it sell.

The star designates a trip back to the factory for something...

It looks like you have a Model of 1905 32-20 hand ejector. It was probably made before 1920 and the star mark indicates it went back to S&W for work. My guess is it was for refinishing. If the bore is in good shape and mechanically it functions well $350 is a reasonable price. YMMV

I think the barrel is not right , for the gun. The gun should be about
1912, yet the barrel has 1914, plus the patent date roll markings
are on top. For 1912, they should have been on the side of the barrel.
Maybe the barrel was replaced in 1944, when it went back to the
factory.
Later, Mike Priwer

Generally no, but you can never say never with S&Ws. I sent back a model 57 4inch in the early 80s to get an 8 3/8th inch barrel fitted and they stamped the serial number on the new barrel then. Usually they didn't.
Nice gun, the 32/20s must have been popular here in Michigan as I seem to run across a good amount. Nice catch.

I think my friend "White Coyote" just bought it. Looks like it will be staying in Michigan.
