Price check on a 32 CTG
My Grandfather Passed away last Apr and I am helping my Grandmother find out how much all his guns are worth.
I am looking for a price and any info for this 32. On the barrel it is marked as a 32 Long CTG. The SN is 25991. There are no other markings on the gun other than those. It looks like someone buried it in the ground for a long time and then dug it back up. It looks bad but, the gun still works great.
A BIG Thanks in advance.

There is a faint S&W logo in the pits on the left frame below the cylinder thumb latch.
The serial number is for a .32 Hand Ejector, 1903 1st change as made 1904-1906.
Condition is bad, resale value is very low. I'd keep it as a family heirloom and make up a legend about Grandpa burying it to hide it from the Yankees or some such.

Bigjman210, my condolences in the loss of your Grandfather. As for the value of the 32 HE that he had when he passed, it is really minimal on the open market... if you got $50-75 for it from a gunsmith (for parts) you would probably be doing about as well as you could hope for. As JW said above, it's probably worth more as a family relic than it could ever bring in cash money. I'd love to get the real backstory on that one!

I like it. You say it works? If if shoots, it would be the talk of the shooting range. If it doesn't shoot, retire it to the family album.

These are great little guns, but value still lags behind their bigger brothers. I have been able to purchase a few lately for around $200 per gun. The condition is as the photo below to give you an idea of what that money will buy in the last year or less.
I doubt that you could get $100 for that one, making is all the better to add to the family heirlooms.
