Show off those K frames
I only have a pair,
One being my late 1940's vintage Military & Police .38 Special
The other being my old M & P .32-20 with a Wondersight. One of the most accurate revolvers I have ever shot.

Model 10-6
Model 10-5
Model 12 "no dash"
I'm currently pondering a square butt 64 with a 4" standard barrel to add to the collection...

Well now, since you've asked....my photographic skills are not up to this task, but I will attempt to impress by volume, if not by quality of composition:
Some shiny ones:
Some duplicated integration:
Some fixed-sighted ones:
Some target-sighted ones:
A whole pile of snubbies:
And a whole menagerie:
I shall not inflict you with my redundant and much ballyhooed displays of K22's. Suffice it to say that they have been overdone. -S2

Well, this topic proved illuminating in ways I didn't foresee. I like N-frames and I-frames, but I didn't realize until I started taking stock how many K-frames I have added to the heap. I am still under a dozen, but its amazing how opportunity purchases will inflate the holdings while one is not really paying attention.
Today I feel more affection for these two guns than for the others, but if you check with me next week the K-22s may be back on top, or even the 1905 Target or the badly renickeled .32-20. (Like the OP, I find my .32-20 a hoot to shoot, and I probably ought to pick up a wondersight for it.)
The early: a M&P Model of 1902 First Change with a slightly worn surface and excellent internals. Shipped 1904. I haven't shot this one yet, but I'm looking forward to it.
And the scarce: A K-32 Masterpiece (Pre-16) from early 1949. I have shot this one, and it is a delight to work with. This gun prints better for me than any of the K-22s and K-38s I have.
Since I mentioned the .32-20 and I kind of like it, I'll throw its picture on the screen as well. The action is sound and the bore and chambers bright. But that is really a sloppy renickel job. This is my ugly duckling K-frame. Shipped 1915.

What is the gun you have posted ? I note the name of the photo
is Foreign SW Clone, or something like that.
I'm curious about the pinned front sight blade .

I don't think I knew until this moment that a fixed-sight K-frame revolver in .32 Long even existed. From the gold and yellow box I take it this is a postwar gun. Do we know how many of these were manufactured, and when they were being shipped?
I think I just recognized another gun that I really want.

I'll play. Here's a couple. Toyman, that 5 inch is fantastic. How about a little more info on that one.
Model 19 no dash, four screw shipped May 1960
Model 10 no dash four screw Cleveland Ohio PD stamped issue revolver, shipped July 1959.
Model 16 no dash K-32 which I had S&W nickel. Another four screw, just made it in this thread, shipped July 1961.
K-22 five screw shipped May 1952. My birth year.
K-32 five screw shipped April 1952.

Model 15, 5 screw, 1952 vintage. Same as the wife and I carried as duty weapon as USAF SP's. Picked it up at a show Saturday and "relived our youth" with it on the range today haha.

Some of my favorites:
A real Masterpiece, about 1952.
5" M&P from the 1930's.
Outdoorsman
Post war snubbby M&P.
And the most modern Smith I own, a M-13, from 1984. They got some things very right with this revolver: 3" heavy barrel, target hammer, smooth target trigger and round butt custom walnut grips by Keith Brown and a great lined holster.
I love the K-frames!

K-32 4 Inch
Hi
This is my Rarest and favorite K frame.
Its is a single gun shippment shipped in 1959 to a
individual in Portland Or. It is a model marked 16
4 screw that letters as you see it with all Target.
and a red ramp front sight.
This is one of the rarest K frames built.
there were some early 4 inch models in 5 screw
I think a shippment of 10. I only know of one other
like mine.
enjoy the picture and the information.

My 6" Model 14 ND from 1950
I've had this K-38 since about 1967 or 8. Serial # 100XXX. Original stocks.
It was my first and only handgun for many years. I bought it from a friend and shot many informal Bullseye targets with it. Hardly ever fired anything other than 148 gr. cast wadcutters in it. It's been a good one!

Just a note of thanks to Reddog. It appears that Smith & Wesson made a mistake in the letter on my K-38. It should have said shipped to Frank Colladay Hardware Company, not the Frank Galloday Co, as stated in the letter. Looks to be a simple typo.

Reddog, that's a handsome revolver. I have your gun's littermate -- K100091, shipped December 1950.
Aside from a really ugly corrosion/pitting problem around one flute, presumably from the gun resting for an extended period on a hostile surface, mine is in pretty good shape. The pits are too deep to buff out, so mine is just a shooter.
K-38s are great guns, though I haven't been able to shoot K-frames as well as I can the N-frame .38s.

Thank you, Muddyboot! Glad I could add a little history to your fine gun!
Mr. Wilson,
Your gun looks good to me! You've got me wondering, now, though? My gun is #100881. Seems to me that it might not be a 1950? Of course, I suppose they could have shipped 800 or more that month? Thanks for the info!

Victory Model
The Victory model belonged to my grandfather. The Distinguished Flying Cross was awarded him for action as a fighter pilot during the second world war. He retired a Colonel from the USAF.

I turned the cylinder so the bad spot is on the back side; like a vain actor who sidles up to a camera in only one way, this guns looks better from one direction than the other!
With that S/N, I think your gun would be either very late 1950 or early 1951. The thing to remember is that S&W had no policy that forced guns to ship in serial number order; once they were completed, they just went into inventory. When orders came in, boxed guns were pulled without reference to serial number. While it is generally true that earlier numbered guns went out before later numbered guns, short of a factory letter there is no way to tell exactly when a specific gun was shipped. In some cases, a lower-numbered gun would leave the factory months or even a couple of years after a higher-numbered gun.

1979. That serial number ought be on a Model 10-7; you can confirm that by opening the crane and seeing if the stamp "MOD 10-7" appears on the frame under the barrel.
