Default Machine screw size...

To all,
Does anyone know the thread size for the machine screw which holds the grips on the M7P or Victory model 38 cal revolver/i.e 4-40 or ?? The shank on a 3/32" drill bit will clear the threads but a 7/64" won"t.

Thanks in advance,

Pistol Packin...

The thread is 5-44 for all the K,L and N factory wood stocks, the length under the head can vary from just under one inch to one and three sixteenths length depending on whether you have service, magna or target stocks. The J fame is smaller but I can't remember offhand what it is.
