Default Model 20 38/44 HELP

I have recently aquired a Model 20 38/44 and I need a bit of help identifying what I have. Serial # is 41801. The unit has King adjustable sights and an odd ring that circles the end of the barrel. What is the value of said unit, it does have some scratches but bluing is still very bright and lock up is tight, Has original grips with matching serial # underneath. I am eventually going to sell. Thanks for everyones help. I would like to know approx what year this was manufactured. pic would not load but I could email one to you. Please email me at [email protected] thanks Brian

does the serial number have a S in front of it. if it does not you have a pre war 2 heavy duty. if the S is there it's a post war HD or pre model 20 and if it's marked model 20 inside the yoke well it's obvious what you have.

whats the barrel length?

Default 38 44

No S in front of it and does not read Mod 20 anywhere on the frame

If it does not have Model 20 stamped on it then it is not a Model 20. The 38/44 Heavy Duty was designated the Model 20 in 1957.

The 38/44 Outdoorsman with adjustable sights was designated the Model 23 in 1957.

Is there rifling in the barrel?

Didn't someone market a screw-on choke type adaptor for smoothbore revolvers w/shot cartridges. All very legal w/o registration before NFA.

Nice looking revolver.

Is there a better picture of the front sight and muzzle? Would definitely like to see one close up and brighter.
