The store had it mislabeled. What would the DOB be for serial number 7722?

They were produced only between 1899 and 1902, with approximately 20K of them made in .38 Special. If a .38 Special, it probably shipped sometime in late 1900. Is there a caliber stamping on the barrel? I don't see one. That is sort of an important point.

I have #8636 and it shipped in Jan 1901. Yours being 914 earlier might have shipped in Nov, Dec 1900 possibly.

I added a pic of the caliber marking. The barrel measures 6 1/2". Is that a standard length?

Very tight lock up and smooth action. Carried a lot.....shot a little.
