Default .45 ACP 1917 Commercial

I saw a 1917 .45 ACP "Commercial" revolver yesterday at my local gun shop. It had a lanyard ring and early non medallion grips (don't know if the grips are orignal to the revolver). Finish was a solid 90%. The asking price is $695. Would this be in the ball park for such a revolver? Should I start saving my money? TIA

grips should me checkered with diamond centers. if you
remove the grips the serial number will be written on the
right grip panel if correct.

the price sound good to me, these are getting hard to find
in good condition. i'd make him a offer, don't let it get
away you'll kick yourself later.

picked this one up last october.

Commercials are pretty rare and usually priced higher than WWI revolvers. I have not seen the gun, but would guess that anything less than $1,000 would be a very good price.

You might want to go and put that one on layaway.

I guess I'm the third guy singing the same song. It seems to me that $700 for a decent commercial 1917 is a good price in today's market. Unless I saw evidence of action problems or misuse, I would have pulled out my wallet for a gun like that without a moment's hesitation.

I hope it's still there when you go back to put your deposit down on it.

Thanks for the information. I will start saving my money. The shop is my local honey hole and they won't try too hard to sell a particular fire arm if i'm interested in it. I'll give them a call and put it on hold. Thanks again for the insight.
