Default My gunshow finds Pre mod 12

Also traded up a mod 10-7 with stag grips PLUS cash for a alum cylinder pre model 12. It's in excellent condition considering how easily the finish is worn/scratched. There are several dings in the backstap I'm not excited about, but the balance is good and the cyl/crane are not cracked. Comes in original box numbered on the bottom with grease pencil. The box is overlabeled with the Airweight being rubber stamped on the label. Probably overpaid for this one, but I liked it. There was a piece of paper inside that said early 1953. Didn't know exactly what I had until I got home and got out the Std Cat of S&W.

An uncracked, all-aluminum pre-12 is a great thing to find. Congratulations. Whatever you paid, you will get it back and more with time -- assuming you even want to sell it.

That's a great score -- and with box and paper, too!

You had a great day.

Nice find. If it is a '53 gun does it have an aluminum cylinder? They changed to steel in '54. If so it's highly collectible, but you might not want to shoot it.

Great color on the hammer and trigger.

You don't see many pre Mod 12's. And I've never seen one with box & docs.

It's a great find.
