Finally snagged a 5" pre 14
Found a 5" pre 14, its a ISP overrun. The ser no is right in the group of Illinois State Police guns. Its a shooter with a lot of wear. I've been looking for one for abt 6 years Thanks to Russ L. for working out a trade with me. Can't wait to shoot it Wed nite. Larry

Welcome to the club. Russ has all the serial numbers so he would know how correct it is.

I got the letter today from Russ and its a possible over run. I checked the one S&W Journal and the ser no right after was an ISP gun. Very happy with it and I can shoot it with out destroying any collecter value. DW thats a very nice gun you have. Larry

That is one of the finest Model or Pre Model 14s ever made in my humble opinion. Glad you were able to find one.

Larry, two different guns actually. The first is from the first shipment and the second from the second shipment.

You are quite welcome my friend . . . it sounds like it went to a very good home. Haven't had the time to post my acquisition in our trade but as soon as I can I'll remedy that.
Russ
