Pre-27 Lower Sideplate Screws (yoke & one next to it) anyone know where to find these
Looking for the 2 lower screws on sideplate on a Pre27 (1955) blued. I was told the new ones don't match the older guns. I am hoping someone can steer me to a place that sells vintage gun parts, or would know where to find these 2 screws. I put a note in the forum WTB section and no bites. So hopefully one of you guys could steer me in the right direction.
Thanks,
I think that any of the side plate screws for N Frame of vintage prior to the "Enhanced model's" which were in the early 90's should work. the Pre 27 screws finish may be much better. Try Popperts gun parts. Poppert's Gun Parts Main Menu.
I concur that newer 80's or 90's screws will work fine, blueing maybe slightly different. Remember, the yoke screw must be fitted in order for the yoke to open and close correctly. You usually just can't put a new screw in and get a good result.
Hi Mr. Weston
Just came on line here and saw your reply about the screws. I have a couple in the safe I need a couple of replacement screws for my Pre 27, sideplate ( yoke & one next to it). Also a couple of other S&W's i will have to look at as I can't remember which exact one but I know I need. What kinda pricing do you have for the replacement screws? Thanks for your reply and talk to you soon.
