I bought an old model 10 a while back and it had wood grips on it, someone on this forum said they may be worth a little $ so I thought I'd get you guys to help me out with what they may be worth, I'm sending pictures of the wood grips and pictures of a set of Franzite stag grips I got on ebay for $26.00 the Franzite grips are marked SW MPMG
261A-S looks like one of the medallions has been replaced.
I was hoping I didnt get beat too bad 26.00 dont sound too
bad but I dont know much about the value. Its hard to see in the photos but each grip has the Franzite logo inside each grip.

The pictures of the wood grips (standing on edge) show where they have been modified. I was trying to figure out why someone would alter these grips? Maybe one was damaged and someone tried to make the other grip match? Or they were modified to fit a gun they were not made to fit?

By the way I'd like to thank everyone for helping with the last question I had about the model 10 these wooden grips pictured came with, your info was really helpful,

Hey there Brent, welcome to the forum. On the factory S&W grips, I would value those at around $10 to $15. They are just so worn and smooth that they just don't hold a lot of value anymore. You can probably pick up a pair similar but in great condition in the ballpark of $75 if you are patient.
If the factory grips number to the gun then they may hold a smidgen more value but only as long as they stay on the gun that they left the factory with.
Can't comment on the Franzites. I hope the info was helpful and of course this is just one man's opinion and value can be subjective. Take care.

+1 after dacoontz. That corner is a very common one to chip on that style of stocks. The only comment I'd make about the Franzites is that you'll probably be dissatisfied with 'em before long. The vast majority of Franzites I come across are shrunken, warped or otherwise misshapen. I think the plastic they're made of is not very stable. Find yourself a nice pair of correct service stocks.

If you could post some images of the Revolver, and, state the Serial Number ( last digits as 'X's is fine of course ) as it appears on the Butt...

The members here could give some council on what particular form/style Stocks an M&P of that era would have come with originally.

The Wooden Stocks you show would date to the 'teens, and would have predated the advent of the Model 10 proper by almost fifty years.

When new they looked kind of like this
